CANDLE CARE & SAFETY

We love that you have chosen to bring a Wik & Ware candle into your life.  To get the most from your candle and to use safely is important to us.  Please follow these guidelines to get the most from your candle.

-

Beeswax is a HIGHLY flammable material. NEVER leave it unattended and always burn on a stable non-flammable surface.

-

Burn away from other flammable items (curtains, furniture, decorations etc.)

Keep away from pets and children.

Ensure flame is properly extinguished when finished with the candle.

Never move or touch the candle whilst the wax is liquid.

Discontinue use if yourself or others have an adverse reaction to the candles.

-

To get the most out of your burn, it is important to:

  • burn your candle in a draught free environment

  • trim the wick to approx 7mm before burning

  • extinguish the wick using a wick dipper so as not to produce smoke on burn completion

  • follow the burn time guidelines for the individual candle

Our wide pillar candles require a little extra love and attention to get the most out of them.  They burn best when burned for a minimum of 4 hours.  In doing so, the melt pool reaches wide and the candle won't tunnel.  When the sides are softened you can HUG your candle so that the sides can be melted by the flame.

Hugging your candle involves waiting until the edges are softened and then gently (and very carefully!) pushing the softened sides towards the centre of the candle.  This reduces wax wastage and gives the wick the space it needs to burn efficiently.
